Natural place El Surar
It is the jewel in the crown of the inhabitants of Pinet, a treasure of Mother Nature of great environmental and sentimental value, for which Pinet fought in the nineteenth century. The Surar had always been Pinet's term, but over the years added to the few economic resources that the town had, little by little Llutxent, Quatretonda, Barx and Gandia took territory from it. The history writes that the Provincial Council, after a few years of technical studies, determined that the best solution would be to distribute the barony in relation to the inhabitants of each town (4/15/1842). With the partition of thermal baths and strict legality, it would take the title of "Municipal term". While all this was happening, Barx supported by the bourgeoisie of Gandia, removes a good terrain by tramontana and west to the former territory of Pinet. The "Pla de las frveras" and "el Alto del Garbuller" became Barx's term. The "Sierra del Helecho", "Peña del Medio día" and the "Viña vieja" (worked for centuries by the pinetanos) became the Quatretonda term. Still more lost: towards the east, Gandia claimed the possession of the "Barrancades", "Del Mirador", "del Flotar" and everything that could be obtained for their own benefit. The Pinetans asked Llutxent for help to put the limit before Gandia did. (year 1845). The Llutxent helped Pinet, but in exchange they took a good land from the old term, "El Zapatero," Lo Sespar "and the northern half of the float. The main problem suffered by the Pinetans was that they had no money to pay the expenses to gather the terms demanded by the Provincial Council. Hence, the lower the term, the less money they would pay.The division of 1869 was based on that of 1588, for which it was now necessary to act and place the limits of 1845, which had disappeared. We do not know how, according to the version of the people of the village, 3 commissions were formed: Pinet, Llutxent and Gandia, because the thing was serious and definitive, the 3 mayors wanted to be present in the delimitation, but as Josep Rausell (Mayor of Gandia) was still determined that the Float was from Gandia, a good discussion was formed between the mayors Doménec Mahiques and Josep Rausell. In the middle of debate, the Mayor of Pinet established that the Mayor of Gandia, entire little by little in terms of Pinet. And when he got it, in an act of rage, took from his hands the rod of the Mayor of Gandia and went down with his people to the town, threatening to receive him with fight if he went back saying that the Float was from Gandia. For this reason the pinetanos estimate so much their jewel of the crown, of great sentimental symbol of which we would describe being similar to the fight of David against Goliath.
