The path A walk among villages
Bufali-Palomar a route between towns that crosses the lands where the army d'al-jünd founded a Muslim farmhouse now defunct, irrigated by the Acequia de la Font del Puerto (7th-12th century). A path through the orchards of two villages, where you will discover the origin of the Valencian calvaries, the construction of the railway through the Valley of Albaida, and different perspectives of the Albaida Valley. Arrived at the ravine of Junda you will be able to connect with the circular path of the ravine of Junda de Palomar. Strolling through the streets we see some beautiful houses of the XVII-XIX centuries decorated with devotional panels of manises, the one of the Trinity (canon 1795-1800). At the top of the village there is a landscaped cemetery, the Hermitage of Calvary, the railway bridge (19th century), the irrigation ditch and a public fountain. The beautiful center of the town is presided over by a parish church, of austere façade of the years 1885-1887, when the rector Joan-Baptista Escrivò promoted the construction. It has a Latin cross plan and cannon vault roof with lunettes and an academicist decoration of composite order pilasters. The neo-baroque plaster altarpiece is new workfrom 2005 and keeps a hemispherical baptismal stone font of the sixteenth century (Moorish) and a Jesus de la Bolo of 1883. The bell tower is square. Going down to the Junda ravine, we will find a border with abundant vegetation and a fountain. If we go down to the river of Albaida we can continue to the houses of Hinojo and the Barranquets above and below: typical farmhouses of the XVII-XIX centuries. Bufali celebrates festivities on August 15-20, in honor to the Virgin Mary of Loreto and the Christ of Poverty, and Sant Antoni del Porquet (January 17).
