Built inside the Clos de la Vila, old walled enclosure, stands on a small hill dominating the view of the old town. Makes worship to the patron saint of Albaida: Mare de Deu del Remei. This monumental building, from the beginning of the 17th century, is built on the walls of the old Romanesque church of the 13th century. Its interior is worthy of being visited, as it contains works by the Neorealist sculptor Galarza, the altarpiece of the main altar and the imperial bed of Mare de Déu d'Agost by Pere Foix (17th century) and various works by the illustrator José Segrelles, decorate the lunettes, the main altar and the chapel of Baptism. The 18th century arch, which gives access to the church, preserves part of the baroque decoration of an ancient chamber calvary and the image of the Mare de Déu del Remei. It is a temple of reconquest, with a central plan with chapels between buttresses and a single nave to which a side chapel of neoclassical style is attached in 1709 dedicated to the patron saint of Albaida, the virgin of Remei. It has a three-sided polygonal head that is covered by a ribbed vault . Inside we find large pilasters of compound order crowned by a continuous frieze. The nave is presided by the main altar that responds to the artistic conception of the late Renaissance, close to the Plateresque. It is composed of three bodies with a total of 8 columns and an equal number of pilasters. Of the outside of the temple emphasize its two doors of access. The main door is composed of a semicircular arch flanked by a pair of striated columns and Doric capital devoid of ornamentation. The upper part is presided by a niche framed by Ionic columns and split pediment. The ornamentation of the frieze follows the classical Roman model, very much used in the Italian Renaissance. The side door is simpler. It is a semicircular arch framed by smooth pillars. The frieze contains rosettes and triglyphs and in the center presides the coat of arms of the Milà i Aragó, marquises of Albaida. Riveting the arch we find a split pediment with two Herrerian balls on the sides and in the central part a niche framed by Ionic pilasters topped by a triangular pediment.
