Albaida is the only town in the Valencian Community that, since the 13th century, has kept the Manual Bell Touch uninterrupted and daily. Well of Intangible Cultural Interest (BIC) since 2013. Throughout the year more than 3200 Toques, Revolteos and Repiques are made manually from the bell tower of the arciprestal church of the Asunción de la Mare de Déu.
The bell tower of Albaida begins to be built in 1615 and ends 5 years later. Elaborated in tosca stone it has a height of 40 m. of f square plant and provided with stairs on the landing. The resulting building is that of a tower with a body of bells and with the appearance of a fortified watchtower due to its robustness.
In 1857, the clock with a temple that is observable from
many points of the locality.
The bell tower of Albaida houses a set of 10 bells, 3 of them located in the temple of the clock. Its age goes from 1808, the oldest, until 2003, when the last restoration was made.
The largest bell in the bell tower of Albaida is called Remediet, although it is also known by the name of Grossa and weighs 1375 kilos.

You can also visit the bell tower when there is a manual touch of bells as marked by the Consueta, the historical document where all the touches, revolteos and peals that are made throughout the year are collected.
Currently, work is being carried out in the future MITMAC (International Museum of the Manual Touch of Bells).
