Salem hosts the Remains of Life, Remains of Death exhibition, with visits to the rock shelters of the Barranco de les Coves.
The Salem Socicultural Center will host this Friday at 7:30 p.m. the inauguration of the exhibition 'Remains of Life, Remains of Death' in an act that will be attended by Xavier Rius, deputy for culture, Maria Jesús de Pedro, director of the Museum of Prehistory of Valencia as well as Juli Fenollar, mayor of Salem.
Remains of Life, Remains of Death shows how the human communities that have settled in our lands have dealt with the issue of the disappearance of loved ones. It also shows how this information is recovered through funerary archaeology.
The traveling exhibition will remain in Salem for two months and will have guided tours that will be completed with visits to the rock shelters of the Barranco de las Cuevas de Salem. In addition, on the more pedagogical side, talks have been made with some institutes so that students can visit the exhibition and the shelters with cave paintings accompanied by a specialist.
On weekends the exhibition will be open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for everyone and during the week it will be necessary to arrange a visit to the Town Hall.
The guided tours will be on March 18 and 19, starting at 10 in the morning at the social center, where we can visit this exhibition and the cave shelters of the Barranco de las Cuevas.
