This place of the term is the most characteristic lookout over the valley of this part of the region. You can see all the west of Albaida Valley and the neighboring towns of Villena and Caudete, and on clear days with the west wind you can see the horizon line that marks the Mediterranean sea. This privileged orientation makes it a very special watchtower to enjoy the changing colors of the exit and the sunsets. The place is presided by the hermitage of San Esteve built to the XVII century and restored in 1991.
Arrive
• On footby bicycle. The most common route is to follow the Camí de les Boles which is the extension of the Avenue Vicent Gironés in the Sant Rafael neighborhood until reaching the intersection of the Moixent road. At this point we find some spaces where we can walk separated from the road to the entrance of the road of Sant Esteve that we will find to the left perfectly signposted. From here the road leads to the hermitage. An alternative is to take the road "ca Cristina", between kilometers 46 and 47 of the CV-660 road to Fontanars dels Alforins, and follow the path that we find at the end of the road. This second route is not signposted.
• By car. It coincides with the route described above and the road is recently paved. What can you do: This place is conditioned as a recreational area and services have been installed, which allows to spend a good time in nature. As there is are no shadow, avoid the central hours of the day in summer. The hermitage is guarded by the association of llumeners of Sant Esteve and inside there is a refuge area where you can stay overnight. To get the key, call the Town Hall and we will inform you. In the second half of July is celebrated the pilgrimage and feast in Sant Esteve with mass and folkloric mountain festival. The dates are variable and should be confirmed. From the hermitage we can approach the cave of l'Avern in which the most daring go through tortuous galleries to see what is in the interior of the mountains.
