This emblematic museum occupies two floors that go from the west tower to the middle tower of the Milà i Aragó's Palace. The museum has a collection of puppets that come from all continents. It is a center dedicated to the study and preservation of puppets art. On the first floor there is an amphitheater where an audiovisual is projected explaining the different puppet manipulation techniques. Then we access the room where the oldest puppets of the museum are, from Europe (Romania, England, Czech Republic ...), Africa (Nigeria, Mali, Togo) and Asia (Turkey, Japan, Pakistan, China ...). In this space highlights the collection from the Java island, the Wayang Golek and Wayang Kulit puppets that are declared Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by Unesco. The second floor of the International Puppet Museum of Albaida (MITA) is divided into three different spaces. First we found puppets from 1930 to 1950 that belong to itinerant companies that earned their living performing puppet shows in the streets. We will also see the mythical Tirisiti from Alcoy. In the second space we enjoyed groups of puppets that have participated in different theatrical shows such as "Mala sort" from Teatro Bufo, "Micomicón" from El saco de Strómboli"From the land to the moon" by Entaulat teatre. The third space is the most current room. It was opened to the public in 2007 and is dedicated to film and television puppets. Here we can enjoy the presence of well-known characters such as the "guiñoles" of "Las noticias del guiñol" and Cuorelandia the Goamespuma characters. The MITA also houses Clay dolls, creations in plasticine that are used in film and television using a technique known as Stop motion. But, the jewel in this room are the automatons created by Francisco Sanz, mechanized dolls to which this great ventriloquist gave life at the beginning of the 20th century. During the year are scheduled guided tours, shows, courses, storytelling, puppet workshops and other play and didactic activities.
