The palace is located in the Major Square , presiding the access to the Clos de la Vila (old walled enclosure). It is formed by three towers and was built in three phases between 1471 and 1610 over the walls of the thirteenth century. It is the most emblematic building of Albaida, symbol of the old feudal power transformed now into a public space since 1992 when was acquired by the city council. The rooms of the palace are decorated with baroque paintings made by Bertomeu Albert in the 17th century. Highlights The Hall Of The Throne and The Hall Of The Music, The Room of the Christ, The White Room and The Bedroom. In addition to the Albert’s paintings, in the noble area of the palace, it is possible to emphasize its spectacular gothic room, that would have been part of an old house of the thirteenth century belonging to the feudal lord Conrad Llança. In the west part, between the West Tower and the Middle Tower, we find the International Puppets Museum and the Tourist Information Office. In 1995 began a restoration and integral rehabilitation process that has allowed to return to the people a space that for many years has been inaccessible. Attached to the palace we can find the Porta de la Vila, a half-point arch , built in 1460 which was closing the access to the Clos de la Vila. Other important elements are the eighteenth-century archway that gives access to the church and preserves part of the baroque decoration of an ancient calvary, the thirteenth-century watchtower and the various shields of the families that have inhabited the palace and that we find distributed by the facade.
