The mill of Salem, where the 19th century was discovered a gold mine and was about to arm itself in the region the gold rush, is another point of interest. It is very close to the source of Cantal, where some traditional vegetable gardens of the neighboring villages of El Ràfol and Castellón are irrigated. The casal molinar is a very old work, which already existed as such in the time of the Moors, but which was reformed, with the current appearance, in the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries. It is a big house, that was property of the marquises of Bèlgida, the Bellvís, last gentlemen of the barony of the Hole of Salem. A raft allowed to fill the vertical winerywell, from where the pressure water was ped on oneboth sets of grinders: one for wheat and the other for corn. It stopped milling in 1962. It is currently renovated and retaurant by the Alonso family.
