The Micena airfield was a work of considerable proportions and budget that employed about a thousand workers who elevated and paved the Camino Real de Gandia,"Camino de Montaberner" for the construction of two tracks. They built a house by Place of Command known as the "House of the Coroner", and conditioned the High House to be used as housing for the squadrons of pilots and support troops. As for the means of passive defense, highlights the existence of two large shelters located one to the High House, with capacity for 70 people and in the South of the field, that of Micena with capacity for 40 people. These shelters, of construction similar to those that are conserved to Toro, were destined to the protection against aerial attacks, with lining of brick and mortar and with two mouths of entrance.
