Introduction:

Emblematic route that runs through all the villages that rest at the foot of the Sierra del Benicadell, which is the highest mountain in the region with 1,104 meters of altitude. It offers us magnificent views and excellent natural attractions of the first order. We will visit the 8 towns that surround it: Atzeneta de Albaida, Carrícola, Bèlgida, Otos, Beniatjar, Ràfol de Salem, Salem and Castelló de Rugat.

 

CARRÍCOLA

Small town of a hundred inhabitants, where an agricultural activity with a biological tradition is maintained; An example of this is the C.I.A. Environmental Interpretation Center. "La Ametla de Palla". The parish church of San Miguel Arcángel, The Calvary (with magnificent stations decorated with Valencian ceramics), the Hermitage of Cristo del Calvario and the Castle of Carrícola, located in the municipality of El Palomar, stand out. The Castle has a medieval tower with a square floor plan from the 19th century. XIII, from where you can enjoy unbeatable views at the foot of Benicadell. Near the municipality is the Melero fountain, surrounded by a forest garden.

As for gastronomy, “la casoleta en costra” and “els negocis” stand out. They are the most characteristic dishes that you can taste.
