Introduction:
Emblematic route that runs through all the villages that rest at the foot of the Sierra del Benicadell, which is the highest mountain in the region with 1,104 meters of altitude. It offers us magnificent views and excellent natural attractions of the first order. We will visit the 8 towns that surround it: Atzeneta de Albaida, Carrícola, Bèlgida, Otos, Beniatjar, Ràfol de Salem, Salem and Castelló de Rugat.
OTOS
Picturesque town where the palace of the Marquis of San José stands out, a building built in the s. XVIII, recently rehabilitated. On the façade you can see the adovelada door and a succession of 18 semicircular arches. The parish church of La Purísima Concepción and the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, both built in the s.XVIII. They complete the monumental heritage to which we must add the different sundials (found within the route of the sundials).
Regarding gastronomy, rice in batches and salty cakes stand out.
