Introduction:

Emblematic route that runs through all the villages that rest at the foot of the Sierra del Benicadell, which is the highest mountain in the region with 1,104 meters of altitude. BENIATJAR

It is a good example to observe the intimate link between urban planning, civil architecture and the rural world. The parish of Our Lady of the Incarnation of the s. XVII; inside there are two tables of enormous wealth attributed to the painter Joan de Joanes. The highlight is the recent inauguration of the Ruta del Cid and the Castle of Carbonera located in Benicadell (mountain called Peña Cadiella in the Cantar del Mio Cid), it is an Arab fortress that was conquered and reconquered by Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar , from where he watched and controlled the four cardinal points. On the way to the castle, you can enjoy magnificent landscapes, such as: "les Fontetes", the "Pont del Moro" and the "Planisses house": they are recreational areas, ideal for resting and recharging your strength.

As for gastronomy, the “torró de gat”, the asparagus, the crumbs, the loaves stand out.
