SEMPERE The small one of the region

A true survivor. This is Sempere, little brother of the villages of the Albaida Valley region. With 48 inhabitants, Sempere is the smallest municipality of the 34 towns that make up the Valley and that make sense in this territory. Its church, of Sant Pere, with that trompe l'oeil that seems to be but that is not. Its views, to the Bellús reservoir and, from the calvary, in the whole region. And a historical fact, curious anecdote that faced the gentlemen Nuñez with La Pobla del Duc. These are  three reasons to know Sempere, but as always, the best is to visit it if you have not already done so.

HISTORY

Its historical origin is probably in a Muslim farmhouse that, after the Christian conquest, happened to belong to Núñez Nunez. In past centuries it emphasized by his pottery ability. Situated at the lefthand margin of the river that gives name at the region. The reduced proportions of this term hardly give place to the differentiation of the relief. The only remarkable thing is the river Albaida, that touches the term for its oriental part. One of the most important heritages is the Parish Church, devoted at Saint Pere Apostle. Of big artistic and worthy value to visit. The local festivities are: San Blai, celebrated on February 3 and the Patronal Feasts celebrated in November in honour to Santa Catalina.
