THE ROUTE OF THE SUNDIALS - THE VILLAGE OF THE SUNDIALS

Otos is a hamlet of the Albaida Valley located in the shade of the Sierra del Benicadell that has a peculiarity of great tourist interest: numerous sundials distributed throughout the town that make up an open-air museum. The route of the sundials was born in 2005 under the name Otos, the town of sundials. The project consisted in the creation of 8 solar watches of Valencian artists with great national and international prestige: Arcadi Blasco, Rafael Armengol, Manuel Boix, Toni Miró, Andreu Alfaro, Artur Heras, Elisa Martí and Rafael Amorós. Currently the town has more than thirty watches and you can take a guided tour.

THE ROUTE OF THE SUN CLOCKS

The current route consists of a guided tour of the most important clocks in the town. The visit is made every Sunday, leaving at 11am from the Plaza del Labrador. The duration usually ranges between an hour and a halftwo. The tour is made by expert guides in the subject. Technical issues are addressed to understand the operation of the watches but in a pleasant and understandable way. In each clock is explained the artistic will of the creator and also the history that hides. Since each watch contains technical, artistic and cultural peculiarities, the three aspects are combined to make an interesting visit from different aspects. The visit ends at the palace of Otos, where you can see the Permanent Art Collection of Antoni Miró. To make this visit you do not have to reserve a place, just show up one Sunday at the Plaza del Labrador at 11am. If you are a group of elder people, we advise you to call the Town Hall to advise. 96 235 80 32
